Just got checked into our hotel Novotel in Beijing a mere 29 hours after leaving our house yesterday morning at 4:30. Kim and Kyra have for tonight a separate room on a separate floor, so this is just Craig sending this. We should be able to get connecting rooms tomorrow for the remaining two nights here. Our guide, Eric, speaks good English, which makes it much easier.
We have lucked out and we are the only four in our tour group here, so we get a personal tour. Tomorrow we just see the sights near the hotel, like Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden Palace and the Summer Palace. The next day we are off to the Great Wall.
Not sure how well my phone is working. I have tried three text messages and only one to my sister has worked so far. So feel free to pass on the news of our safe arrival. Everyone is tired and hitting the sack.
